Fake endorsement concerns in Lackawanna County

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — From your local election headquarters, a firefighters union is setting the record straight after former president Trump’s rally in Scranton.

Officials with Local 60 say multiple citizens were seen with Scranton firefighters for Trump signs at Wednesday’s rally when no member of the union was carrying since the national firefighters union chose not to endorse a candidate this election.

Officials went on to say that they honor and respect each and every person`s political opinions when it comes to both candidates

“None of our guys were holding those signs that I’ve seen. I can’t really control what other people do. I would assume the post I made I thought it would set the story straight that we didn’t endorse a candidate. If another candidate comes something like this happens again I would have pretty much to do the same post,” explained Allen Lucas the Scranton Fire Department firefighter’s union president.

Again local 60 has not endorsed a presidential candidate the sign’s origins are unknown a spokesperson for the trump campaign tells 28/22 News they did not make them.
