Fall River woman hits it big in Powerball. What she plans to do with her $1M prize.

FALL RIVER — One lucky city woman finished last week on a spectacular note.

Fall River resident Ida Reis is the winner of a $1 million Powerball prize on a ticket purchased at a South End store on Wednesday, July 10, according to the Massachusetts Lottery website.

The first five numbers on Reis' Quic Pic ticket matched those selected in the drawing, which featured a $39.9 million jackpot.

She claimed her $1 million prize, before taxes, on Friday, July 12, at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Dorchester headquarters.

According to Reis, she plans to help her family with some of the winnings.

Reis wasn't the only Fall River winner. Amaral’s Central Market at 872 Globe St., where Reis purchased her Powerball ticket, receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
