Family with De Pere area ties identified as 6 dead following central Wisconsin house fire

NECEDAH, Wis. (WFRV) – A deadly early morning house fire on Sunday in central Wisconsin took the lives of six family members, who have ties to the De Pere area, while they were vacationing in Necedah.

Officials with St. Mark Ministries in De Pere provided a statement via its Facebook page and also released a video on Wednesday afternoon about the victims, who were Ministry partners of the church.

The Juneau County Sheriff’s Office provided the identities of the victims on July 2:

  • Steven Lance Witte – 66 years old

  • Charis Anne Kuehl – 38 years old

  • Lydia Marie Witte – 35 years old

  • Three Juveniles

    • Two years old

    • Five years old

    • Eight years old

It’s been a tough couple of days since we heard about the tragic news. Karl and Hannah Henselin, their immediate family, and their extended family are well-known to many of us, not only as Ministry partners here at St. Mark, but dear friends.

Authorities did say that the fire at the home in the W5000 block of Morros Mile Road in Necedah is believed to be ‘accidental in nature.’
