Fatal shooting closes part of Charlotte Pike

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities have closed at least part of the road to investigate a fatal shooting on Charlotte Pike Friday night.

Metro Dispatch stated that at least one man was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center after authorities responded to a shooting call at roughly 6:21 p.m. Friday night. That call came from the 6200 block of Charlotte Pike.

Metro Police on scene said that a middle-aged man went inside a bakery and was walking towards his vehicle when a dark sedan pulled up and multiple people exited the truck and began shooting at the man. Police found 40-50 shell casings in the street.

He was followed by suspects while they continued shooting at him before running into the street and collapsing.

That man was later pronounced deceased. Police on scene are not sure of a suspect at this time and are reviewing video surveillance. No other immediate details were released. News 2 has reached out to Metro Police for more information.
