Father, daughter robbed while closing restaurant in southeast Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Police Department is searching for two suspects they say robbed a father and daughter while they were closing a southeast Memphis restaurant Sunday night.

According to reports, just before 11:30 p.m., officers responded to Tokyo Grill located at 2801 Kirby Road, where they were advised that two victims had been robbed at gunpoint.

The daughter told police that she and her father were closing up the restaurant and walking out the door when they were surrounded by two men armed with guns and wearing masks.

Police say the girl told the robbers that she had nothing to give them, but her father gave up his wallet containing around $200 in cash and the key fob to his pickup truck.

The suspects then fled the scene in what appeared to be a maroon Jeep Cherokee with a missing grill.

MPD provided a video of the suspects in the parking lot prior to the robbery.

Police describe one of the suspects as a man with a thin build, wearing a long-sleeved white pullover, gray jeans, black sandals, and white socks. He was armed with a black and silver handgun.

The second suspect is described as a man with a medium build, wearing a black sweater, black shirt, gray sweatpants, and black shoes. He was armed with two black and silver handguns.
