FEC approves Rep. Good’s recount fund request, The Hill reports

(WFXR)– The Hill reports the Federal Election Commission reports it approved Rep. Bob Good’s request to use general election funds to pursue a recount in the Republican primary loss in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District.

Rep. Good stated he would pursue a recount and a ‘full investigation’ after narrowly losing to state Sen. John McGuire earlier this month.

The Hill reports Good used a majority of his funds during the primary election and asked the commission for permission to dip into funds designated for the general election. However, to use these funds to cover his recount expense, he must first ask donors for their approval.
