FEMA recovery centers in some East Texas counties to close on Sundays
TRINITY, Texas (KETK) – FEMA Region 6 has announced that several disaster recovery centers across the state and here in East Texas will start to be closed on Sundays starting June 30.
UPDATE: Smith, Van Zandt counties approved for FEMA assistance
The following counties will have their FEMA disaster recovery centers start to be closed on Sundays:
Jasper County
Jasper County Courthouse Annex, 271 E. Lamar St. Suite 101, Jasper, TX
Lamar County
Chisum Elementary School, 3250 S. Church St., Paris, TX
Newton County
Howard Civic Center, 213 W. Court St., Newton, TX
Polk County
Livingston Public Library, 707 N. Tyler Ave., Livingston, TX
San Jacinto County
Innovation Center, 250 Live Oak, Coldspring, TX
Tyler County
Tyler County Emergency Operations Center, 201 Veterans Way, Woodville, TX
Trinity County
Trinity Middle School Boardroom, 101 W. Jefferson St., Trinity, TX
Van Zandt County
Canton Intermediate School, 1190 W State Hwy 243, Canton, TX
Waller County
Pine Island Baptist Church, 36573 Brumlow Rd., Hempstead, TX
FEMA disaster recovery centers not listed like the center in Tyler will still be open on Sundays and Texans can always apply for assistance through the FEMA app, by calling 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. or by applying through FEMA online by Aug. 14.
