Fewer storms, similar timing today

Saturday morning starts out sunny and dry with temperatures in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. Showers and storms will form around lunchtime and will linger into the evening with the strongest east of I-75. Some storms will move back toward our coast after sunset. Highs will rise to the low and mid 90s with feels like temperatures well over 100 degrees.

There will be a few more storms Sunday with rain arriving a bit earlier, during the late morning and lingering into the evening hours as highs rise to the low 90s after morning lows around 80 degrees.

There won’t be much change to our pattern with earlier storms Monday through Wednesday and mainly afternoon and evening storms to finish out the work week. Lows will only drop to the upper 70s to near 80 degrees with highs in the low to mid 90s.

Beryl continues to make its way toward the southern Texas coast and is expected to make landfall near Corpus Christi on Monday as a Category one or two hurrcaine before moving into eastern Texas and Arkansas as a much weaker system. Otherwise the tropics are very quiet.
