Initial reports came in as a fire on the roof of the building with heavy smoke on the third floor. One Facebook video shows people on the street watching as it appears the roof of the building is on fire.

The damage to the inn, which opened in 1727 and is one of America's longest continually run inns, was not immediately known.

Formerly known as Ferry Tavern, the inn was built by John Wells. It was renamed the Logan Inn in honor of Chief Logan of the Lenni-Lenape tribe in 1828. Near the entrance, a statue of the Native American Chief continues to watch over the establishment, according to usghostadventures.com.
