According to a MVFR post on X, at 4:28 p.m. Thursday, MVFR Station 3 in Mead was called to help a stuck animal near Colo. 66 and Weld County Road 7. Upon arrival, a fire engineer climbed a 24-foot ladder and was able to free the bird before carrying it back down. A park ranger then removed the material around the birds legs and feet.

According to MVFR spokesman Rick Tillery, the park ranger observed the bird on scene for a while before it was released back into the wild.
