First day of school for El Paso County: Important dates to know for 2024-2025 school year

Summer break has flown by, and thousands of students across the Borderland are looking toward the 2024-2025 school year.

Some districts have already marked the first day of school: the Clint Independent School District welcomed students back on Monday, July 22, the San Elizario Independent School District opened its doors on Tuesday, July 23, while the Ysleta Independent School District and Tornillo Independent School District brought kids back to classrooms on Monday, July 29.

There’s still a bit of time for students – and parents - to prepare in other school districts.

Here is a glance at the first day of school for the major school districts.

Free school supplies

A few school districts are still giving out free supplies to students including Ysleta ISD, and Gadsden ISD.
