Five people shot, injured early Saturday morning in Milwaukee

Five people were shot in Milwaukee early on Saturday morning, police said.

All five are expected to survive the mass shooting, which happened at about 1:47 a.m., the Milwaukee Police Department said in a news release. The shooting occurred on the 3800 block of North Richards Street and those shot ranged in age from 28 to 40.

Milwaukee police continue to investigate the shooting and seek unknown suspects, according to the release.

Through Aug. 1, there have been 397 non-fatal shooting in Milwaukee, according to police data. That's 25% down from the same time period last year and 19% down from 2022.
