Hurricane Beryl might seem far away, but it could impact travelers coming through Louisville. Most departing flights scheduled over the holiday weekend have already left, but more than 10,000 seats were scheduled for Monday.
Remnants of the storm will move through the Louisville area Tuesday into Wednesday, the National Weather Service said in a statement Monday. Strong to severe storms Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night could result in "localized flooding."

Hurricane Beryl remnants to impact Louisville area
NWS posted to X, formerly Twitter, that the remains of Hurricane Beryl, which made landfall in Texas as a category 1 hurricane, will move across the Bluegrass State and Louisville area by Tuesday evening. The extent of storms is "uncertain," with isolated strong and severe storms expected. Flooding is possible in the heaviest thunderstorms.

According to the NWS seven-day forecast, there's a chance of showers before 11 a.m. Tuesday, with a chance of both showers and storms between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Showers are likely with possible storms after 2 p.m. Skies will be cloudy with a high near 89, and light winds.
The chance of precipitation is 60% with new rainfall amounting to between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.
Tuesday night
Tuesday evening is forecasted with a low near 71 and east winds of six mph. The chance of precipitation is 80% with rainfall amounts between a quarter and half an inch possible.
Wednesday
On Wednesday, showers are likely with a possible thunderstorm. Skies will be partly sunny with a high near 81 and south winds of 6 to 10 mph becoming west. The chance of precipitation is 70% with rainfall amounts of a tenth to a quarter of an inch possible.
Wednesday night
There's a 20% chance of showers and storms before 2 a.m. on Wednesday night. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a low near 66.
Thursday
Thursday has a 20% chance of showers and storms after 2 p.m. It will be mostly sunny with a high near 84. In the evening, skies will be mostly clear with a low near 67.

Flight cancellations in the Louisville area
According to the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport website, some flights have already been delayed with United, American and Delta. A flight to Chicago with Southwest and another to Houston with United have been canceled. To see the status of your flight, click here.
