Florida man throws furniture off Manhattan high-rise building: NYPD

MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) – A Florida man is accused of throwing furniture off of a Midtown high-rise building last Friday, according to the NYPD.

Jean Oliver, 33, allegedly entered 555 Fifth Avenue without permission around 2:15 p.m., went up to the 20th-floor patio, and tossed tables and chairs over the side to the street below, according to authorities.

No injuries were reported.

A Citizen App video showed a shirtless man on the patio, pacing back and forth and occasionally raising his arms. A crowd of onlookers watched him from the street, video showed.

The NYPD appeared to shut down the part of the street where the furniture landed, video showed.

Oliver was charged with burglary, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and criminal trespass. He is from West Park, Florida, which is located near Fort Lauderdale, according to the NYPD.
