In the early hours of Sunday morning, the sheriff's office confirmed that the Utah Department of Public Safety dive team found the man, later identified as Seldon, under the water in Porcupine Reservoir.

Seldon started his career playing for Michigan football and enrolled in Ann Arbor in January of 2020. He played for two seasons with the Wolverines, making one appearance in 2021 and one in 2022, before heading to New Mexico State for the next two seasons, eventually transferring to Utah State this past offseason.

The Utah State football program confirmed on Sunday morning that Seldon passed away, saying it is mourning the loss of its student athlete.

The Cache County Sheriff's Office said the early investigation "leads us to believe this is a tragic accident as multiple witnesses recount the same information."
