Former Bishop Ready HS wrestling coach accused of sexual imposition with 13-yr-old girl

A former Bishop Ready High School wrestling coach has been arrested and charged with inappropriate sexual activity involving a 13-year-old girl.

Anthony Aiello, 46, whom records show has both Perry County and Grove City addresses, is charged with sexual imposition, public indecency and telecommunications harassment for incidents that occurred in September and November of 2023, court records show. All three of the charges are misdemeanors and took place at Aiello's home in Grove City.

Aiello has pleaded not guilty to the charges, according to court records. Aiello had been a wrestling coach with Bishop Ready High School since 2017 but has since been removed by the Diocese of Columbus.

Court records state the 13-year-old girl victim participated in a medical forensic interview on Feb. 16, 2024. The teen told investigators that she was sleeping at Aiello's home when she woke up to Aiello touching her inappropriately.

The victim then moved away from Aiello, and Aiello said, "I had the craziest dream." In a conversation with Franklin County Children Services, Aiello admitted to lying in bed with the victim as she went to sleep and told the FCCS worker that he had a "scary dream" while lying with the victim, according to court records. Court records also state that the victim later told her mother about the incident.

In November 2023, Aiello is accused of contacting the victim on FaceTime and inappropriately touching himself while on the call. The victim told investigators she knew that "something was off" and began screen recording the call, when at one point she could see Aiello exposed himself.

Aiello was released from jail after posting a $1,054 bond. Court records do not show when his next court appearance will be.
