Former Clarksville nurse facing nearly 100 state child pornography charges

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A former school nurse at Northeast High School, who had already pleaded guilty to federal charges, was booked for 99 state charges related to child pornography.

News 2’s partner Clarksville Now reported that Leon B. Hensley, 43, was extradited from federal prison to face these charges. He was booked in the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on June 7.

Those 99 charges include:

  • 37 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor

  • 9 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor

  • 1 count of sexual exploitation of a minor > 50 images

  • 12 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor > 100 images

  • 1 count of solicitation of a minor – especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor

  • 3 counts of unlawful photographing in violation of privacy

  • 36 counts of unlawful aggravated photographing

Hensley had already been sentenced to more than twenty years in federal prison. A June 2022 indictment initially charged Hensley with 25 counts of attempting to produce child pornography and coercing a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct. He pleaded guilty to all charges in September 2022.

Hensley’s history dates all the way back to May 2021, though, when officials began investigating allegations that he had been communicating with a girl in the Clarksville area. The DOJ stated that Hensley sent a nude photo of an adult woman to the girl and asked her to pose for photos.

A search of Henley’s phone resulted in the discovery of nude images of minors, later identified as students that attended Northeast High School. A search of his home yielded electronic devices, including a small convert camera, at Hensley’s home. The devices reportedly had images of unidentified women in hospital rooms, airports, and tanning beds, plus video files that appeared to have upskirt videos of adult women and children.

Hensley will be prosecuted by the state for the same crimes that he pleaded guilty to in federal court, according to his indictments. His arraignment is set for July 8.
