The former co-owner of a Bay View eatery will spend the next 10 years behind bars for sexually assaulting women, some of whom worked for him.

Soriano-Cabrera, 41, was a co-owner of the Peruvian-influenced C-viche restaurant in Bay View. He was accused of assaulting at least five women. Four of them were restaurant employees, prosecutors said.

According to a criminal complaint, Soriano-Cabrera approached and sexually assaulted one victim and assaulted and raped another in a span of two hours between 2 and 4 a.m. on Sept. 25, 2022.

Two other women reported Soriano-Cabrera raped them in 2017.

In one instance that year, a woman woke up the morning after drinking with Soriano-Cabrera feeling as if she had been drugged. A sexual assault examination turned up Soriano-Cabrera's DNA, the complaint said.

Another victim reported multiple assaults by Soriano-Cabrera between 2016 and 2017.

A second C-Viche restaurant opened in Shorewood in November 2022. Soriano-Cabrera was also behind Kompali, a Brady Street taqueria, that also has a location in 3rd Street Market Hall in downtown Milwaukee.
