Former Madisonville parents club president accused of embezzlement

MADISONVILLE, La. (WGNO) — A Covington woman accused of embezzling thousands of dollars from a Madisonville parents club was arrested on Tuesday, June 18.
The Office of Attorney General Liz Murrill reported that it started investigating “accusations of theft” involving a former president of the Lake Castle Parents Club in Madisonville in March after getting a referral from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Attorney general’s office agents said an investigation revealed 35-year-old Heather Long allegedly embezzled more than $60,000 from the parents club between August 2022 and December 2023.
On Tuesday, the attorney general’s office reported that Long was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail.
