Free rides to be provided to veterans for Tioga County Moving Wall opening ceremony

TIOGA COUNTY, Pa. (WETM) – The Moving Wall, a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will be making its way to Tioga County, Pennsylvania, next month, and a local transportation company is providing veterans with a way to get there to see the opening ceremony.

The Moving Wall will be on display at Williamson High School in Tioga from Wednesday, July 10, until Monday, July 15. An opening ceremony for the exhibit will take place on July 10 at 3 p.m. to kick off the wall’s arrival.

To make sure that all veterans who would like to attend the ceremony are able to make it, BeST Transit, a transportation provider that provides services to Bradford, Sullivan and Tioga counties, is offering a free ride to all veterans in the area who are not able to make it to the event themselves by providing a transit bus, which is handicapped-accessible.

The BeST bus will pick up veterans who sign up for a ride at different spots scattered throughout Tioga County beginning at noon. The bus will arrive at the school at 2 p.m. and will leave the school 30 minutes after the opening ceremony ends. A list of where the pick-up spots will be can be found below.
