Fresno man sentenced in sexual assault case involving child victims and a dog, DA says

A Fresno man is going to prison for decades for sexually assaulting multiple children, as well as a dog, the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

Gage Mason, 20, was sentenced to 29 years in state prison by Judge Gabriel Brickey and must register as a sex offender.

Mason pleaded guilty to all counts and all aggravating factors on June 5, the district attorney’s office said. He initially pleaded not guilty a year ago.

Mason was arrested in April 2023 following an investigation by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

After Mason’s arrest, the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office charged the then-18-year-old Mason with attempted rape, lewd acts upon a child, oral copulation with a child under 10 years old and sexual assault of an animal.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said Mason performed a sexual act with a dog and that evidence showed that he committed the crimes both recently and several years ago.
