Galesburg Police make arrest in shooting

Police in Galesburg have made an arrest in the June 7 shooting of an 18-year-old man, according to a news release from the Galesburg Police Department. Chase Houlden Jr. was taken into custody on a Knox County arrest warrant for murder on Tuesday, June 18 and is in custody at the Knox County Jail.

This arrest is the result of a shooting on June 7, 2024, at 949 E. South Street in Galesburg, which resulted in the death of Cam’ron Glass, 18 years old, of Galesburg, and the injury of Chase Houlden, 19 years old, of Galesburg.

On June 7 at 11:12 a.m., the Galesburg Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the 900 block of E. South Street. When they arrived, they found a gunshot victim, later identified as Cam’ron Glass in the residence. Glass was pronounced dead at the scene with an apparent gunshot wound. Houlden was injured during the shooting incident and was hospitalized at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria before being arrested.
