A new Goodwill donation center has opened in Altoona.

Goodwill of Central Iowa announced in a Monday news release the location's opening at 550 36th Ave. S.W., near Sugar Shack Diner. The Altoona donation center is designed to offer residents "an easy and efficient donation process for gently used clothing, electronics and household items," the release noted.

According to the Goodwill of Central Iowa website, the Altoona donation center is strictly for donating items. Attendants will greet donors to collect items for sorting and distribution to local Goodwill retail stores, the website said.
