New Hanover dance instructor charged with sex crimes involving a minor

A dance instructor has been charged with indecent liberties with a minor.

Elissa Susan Edwards was arrested and charged following an investigation into allegations of misconduct involving students at dance studios in New Hanover County and across the state, according to a Facebook post from the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office.

Edwards, 41, was arrested on Thursday in Raleigh and transferred to New Hanover County jail under no bond.
