Hazmat call prompts evacuation of Northrop Grumman lab in El Segundo

A hazmat crew is responding to a report of fumes coming from a lab in El Segundo Thursday.

Fire officials were alerted to the incident at the Northrop Grumman lab on 601 Hornet Way just before 9:30 a.m.

Emergency crews from the El Segundo Fire Department were still at the scene when Sky5 was overhead at 10:30 a.m.

No further details regarding the nature of the fumes were provided but employees were forced to evacuate the building.

Initial reports indicated three patients were being treated at the scene but that information has not been confirmed by officials.
