Heat advisory in effect across Pennsylvania

EYEWITNESS WEATHER (WBRE/WYOU) — It’s a steamy and stormy start to the week for northeast and central Pennsylvania.

Heat advisories are in effect for most of our region for Monday and Tuesday. Heat index values may reach between 95 to 100 degrees.

In addition to the heat, it will be rather muggy with dew points in the lower 70s.

While most of Monday and Tuesday is dry, afternoon and evening showers and storms are likely. A shower or storm is possible even in the mornings, but it would be rather isolated.

Any storm may produce damaging wind gusts, downpours, and a small chance of an isolated tornado.

Be sure to take extra precautions if you plan to be outdoors for an extended time. This includes drinking plenty of water, wearing light-loose clothing, and taking frequent AC breaks.
