Heroes stepping up for Remade America

Week after week, Remake America offers advice on how to overcome challenges facing our nation. In this time, Yahoo! users have offered an outpouring of support, solutions, and services of their own.

By connecting, sharing, and motivating each other, this truly dynamic community has helped countless families carry on through the uncertain future of joblessness, foreclosure, debt, and poor health.

These Remake America Heroes have inspired and empowered change by reinvigorating the American Dream.

JOSH DEUTSCH: Josh operates SpringDot, a family-run printing plant in Ohio. He came to Remake America after watching an episode featuring Bill and Donna. Moved by their story, Josh connected with the Clarkes through the Remake America comments section and later produced a number of flyers for the Clarke's store, Hometown Hardware, free of charge.



CHRISTOPHER BRIGHT: Christopher Bright reached out to the coach of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team after watching Kyle’s story on Remake America. Christopher is in the midst of building a gold, steampunk-style hand for Kyle, which you can learn more about on Christopher's blog.




GIZMO WEXLER: Gizmo Wexler and his company, Compufriend Solutions and Support, built a website for Bill and Donna’s store, Hometown Hardware. Bill and Donna hope to increase sales through their online store.




BRIAN MULHOLLAND: After seeing Bill and Donna’s story, Ohio-based cartoonist Brian Mulholland sent them a custom-made cartoon illustration of Bill for them to use as a logo. Brian’s cartoon is now featured on Hometown Hardware’s website and Facebook page.







JOE BRADY: Joe Brady owns Local Motion Video, a production company that specializes in promotional videos for small businesses. Brady and LMV produced a promotional video for Crazy Bunch Soap after watching an episode featuring Starlight and Jose.




KENT LEE: Kent Lee, a resume consultant at Perfect Resume in Arizona, reached out to Leslie through the Remake America comments section. Lee worked with Leslie to revise her resume and perfect her interviewing skills. Lee's mentoring invariably helped Leslie secure a job.




DAVID PIPPENGER: David Pippenger is the owner of Handcrafted Media, a company that specializes in marketing and advertising for small businesses. David flew out from Colorado to meet with Bill and Donna and devise a marketing strategy for Hometown Hardware.
