Hesperia man's body found in desert, cause of death unclear

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a Hesperia man whose body was discovered in a desert area on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

The body of Anthony Pimental, 32, was discovered about 2:30 p.m. in a stretch of desert in the area of I Avenue and Mauna Loa Street, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department officials said.

The results of an autopsy were pending and a cause of death was not clear, officials said.

Detectives were investigating the death as a potential homicide in the meantime.
