Hey Guernsey County: Here's what you need to know to start your week

CAMBRIDGE − JayLynn McClarren, a 2020 graduate of Cambridge High School, has received the McGlumphy Social Work Scholarship. She is pursuing a master's degree in social work focusing on mental health at West Virginia University. The scholarship is part of the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio's scholarship offerings and is designed to support students pursuing a degree in social work.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — Sugartree Road (County Road 84) will be closed for a culvert replacement between Birmingham Road (County Road 71) and Tuttle Road (Washington Township Road 877) at 6:30 a.m. Monday and will reopen at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

ZANESVILLE — The Muskingum Valley Educational Services Center governing board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at its Zanesville office, 205 N. Seventh St.

CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge Township Trustees will meet at 7 a.m. Wednesday.

CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge Laurel Test Group will conduct free amateur radio exams for all classes or licenses at 11 a.m. July 20 in the Guernsey County Administration Building. Preregistration is required. Contact Jim Shaw at 740-305-5041 to register.

CAMBRIDGE — The Guernsey County Port Authority will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the CIC conference room located at 9900 Brick Church Road, Suite 2.

BARNESVILLE — The Belmont County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 3 p.m. July 14 in the Genealogy Room, at Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library, 308 E. Main St.

NEW CONCORD — East Muskingum Local School Board will meet in regular session at 4 p.m. Thursday at the John Glenn High School Muskie Room, 13120 John Glenn School Road.

CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge-Guernsey County Health Department Board of Health will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. July 15 the offices of the Cambridge-Guernsey County Health Department.

GUERNSEY COUNTY — Four area 4-H members Audree Leslie of the Lore City Sticktogethers, Hattie Warne from the Londonderry Lads & Lassies, Josey Kerr with the Cumberland Valley Kids 4-H Club and Lily Sandidge from the Wild Things 4-H Club recently participated in the annual 4-H public speaking contest. They will have the opportunity to participate at the Ohio State Fair on Aug. 2.
