Hillsborough jail inmate dies after being found unresponsive, deputies say
A man being held at a Hillsborough County jail died Thursday after he was found unresponsive.
Staff at the Falkenburg Road Jail in Tampa found the man unresponsive about 8:30 p.m., according to news release from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The man was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital and pronounced dead there.
Investigators believe the man suffered a “medical incident” but they were working to determine how he died, the news release said.
The sheriff’s office was withholding the man’s name until his family is notified.
