Hope, Help, and Healing event aims to raise money, awareness for Ukrainians impacted by war

As war still rages on in Ukraine, the Erie community gathered on Tuesday to raise money and awareness for those impacted by the violence.

Ukrainian doctors came to the UPMC Park Stadium Club for their Hope, Help, and Healing event, highlighting the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

The doctors presented the aftermath of the war and showed their efforts in providing necessary medical attention for civilians and soldiers impacted by the conflict.

One event organizer has been extensively involved in Ukraine relief efforts and said people don’t fully understand the scale of the destruction there.

“They don’t know that it’s real. They don’t know that it’s happening today, and it will happen tomorrow. It’s a real situation, even though it has faded from the front pages of our newspaper,” said Alex Zawacki, an event organizer.

The fundraising foundation is still working on a website where people can donate online, and we will bring you that information at a later date.
