Ice cream cakes at VB Wegmans recalled due to possible listeria contamination

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – Abilyn’s Frozen Bakery has issued a recall on their ice cream cakes due to a possible listeria contamination.

According to Abilyn’s website, the ice cream cakes, sold in areas of Virginia and North Carolina, including the Virginia Beach Wegmans, have no current indication of contamination but have been recalled out of an abundance of caution.

The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) informed Abilyn’s of the presence of possible contamination on June 21, 2024.

The impacted flavors of ice cream cake have a best buy date between April 20, 2024 and April 20, 2025. The flavors can be found below:

  • Vanilla and Chocolate — 30 ounce

  • Vanilla and Chocolate — 60 ounce

  • Cookies and Cream — 30 ounce

  • For the Love of Chocolate — 30 ounce

  • Cookie Dough — 30 ounce

Anyone with the impacted product is urged to discard the ice cream cakes or to return to the store of purchase for a full refund.
