Idaho 55 highway blocked in both directions because of a fire. What we know
A fire north of Avimor on Wednesday closed Idaho 55 in both directions, according to the Idaho Transportation Department’s website and a social media post from the Eagle Fire Department.
The Idaho Transportation Department referred to it as a vehicle and brush fire on its website, while Eagle Fire called it a grass fire.
The vehicle fire is at milepost 57, Idaho Transportation Department spokesperson Sophia Miraglio said in an email to the Idaho Statesman. The transportation department is diverting southbound traffic onto Idaho 52 in Horseshoe Bend, Miraglio said.
A representative from Eagle Fire was not immediately able to comment.
