Idaho police receive report of woman tied to railroad tracks

ELMORE COUNTY, Idaho (ABC4) — Idaho State Police received a false report of a woman who was run over after being tied to railroad tracks in Elmore County on Wednesday. Though the report wasn’t true, the woman was found severely injured after reportedly being hit by a vehicle.

At around 12:30 a.m. on July 3, police responded to the 1800 block of Power Plant Road after a 911 caller reported that a woman tied to the railroad tracks had been run over.

Troopers arrived on scene and found a 20-year-old woman who was not tied to the railroad tracks, but had sustained serious injuries.

She was reportedly flown by air ambulance to a local hospital.

Based on the initial investigation, police believe an argument ensued at the location, and two woman got into a vehicle and struck the third as they drove off.

Gooding County deputies reportedly found the suspect vehicle parked on the side of the road around three miles from the crash scene.

The driver of that vehicle, a 20-year-old woman from Buhl, was arrested for aggravated DUI (felony), leaving the scene of a crash (felony), driving without privileges (misdemeanor), and open container (misdemeanor).

The vehicle’s passenger, a 21-year-old woman from Wendell, was also arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

Idaho State Police are currently investigating this incident.
