Indiana State Fairgrounds' facility gets a new name: Corteva Coliseum
The 85-year-old Indiana Farmers Coliseum has a new name: Corteva Coliseum.
The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center announced the naming rights partnership with Corteva Agriscience in a news release Wednesday. The Indianapolis-based agriculture and seed company has a global reach and a mission to provide farmers with crop protection solutions.
“Indianapolis is our home and our ties to the Hoosier state and the Indiana State Fairgrounds run deep,” Corteva CEO Chuck Magro stated in the release. “The Corteva Coliseum reflects an important commitment to our community and we’re grateful to be a part of such an iconic venue that means so much to our employees, friends and neighbors.”
More plans are forthcoming for the newly renamed building, according to the release, and more information will be posted at CortevaColiseum.com.
The Coliseum was built in 1939 as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Works Progress Administration, and it has become an iconic building that serves a central role at the annual Indiana State Fair in addition to hosting sports, events and concerts all year long.
The name change comes almost two months after Carmel's major venue was renamed Allied Solutions Center for the Performing Arts after forging a naming-rights sponsorship with Allied Solutions.
