One arrested after armed robbery in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A man was arrested on Thursday following an armed robbery in downtown Huntsville on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Huntsville Police Department, officers responded to a robbery call on the 100 block of Greene Street. The victim said a man had picked up some items and attempted to leave the store without paying.

HPD investigating possible robbery at gunpoint

The victim tried to stop the suspect, according to HPD, but the suspect showed the victim a gun before walking out of the store.

Officers found and arrested 24-year-old Kieontai Andrew Chitwood in the area. Chitwood is charged with first-degree robbery and is being held at the Madison County Jail.
