Investigation into Winslow blasts leads to 71-year-old suspect

WINSLOW — An investigation into a series of explosions has led to the arrest of a 71-year-old township man.

Kenneth Baldino was arrested Monday morning after a search found "a large quantity of explosives, illegal fireworks, and high-capacity firearm magazines" at his Hay Road home and business, said Winslow police.

The searches followed a lengthy investigation prompted by numerous complaints about explosions in the town's lightly populated Hammonton section, a police statement said.

The searches were conducted with assistance from Camden County's bomb squad and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Baldino is charged with possession of destructive devices and high-capacity magazines, as well as risking widespread injury.

The charges are only allegations. Baldino has not been convicted in the case.
