Iroquois Co. Sheriff, US Marshals make several arrests

IROQUOIS COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — The Iroquois County Sheriff’s Department worked with investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service to make a series of arrests last week.

Earlier this year, a series of burglaries were reported at rural homes and farm sites throughout the western part of Iroquois County. The incidents stretched from Onarga to Chebanse.

After an extensive investigation, the Sheriff’s Office put out a warrant for the arrest of three suspects: 27-year-old Samuel Hines, 28-year-old Rubicell Lopez, and 47-year-old Justin Kuehne.

Last Thursday, the suspects were all arrested in their hometown of Kankakee by the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. They were charged with multiple counts of burglary and taken to the Iroquois County Jail without incident. They each await a court appearance.

Following this, three arrests were also made in Cissna Park. Both the U.S. Marshals Service and the Iroquois County Sheriff’s Department located the suspects at a local residence. Each was wanted on arrest warrants.

Candace Searcy, 39, was wanted for drug possession and violation of probation. Authorities said she had warrants from Vermilion and Douglas Counties, as well as Benton County in Indiana.

Joshua Searcy, 37, had two arrest warrants from Ford County in regards to forgery and drug possession. Meanwhile Austin Knauss, 30, was wanted on a Kankakee County warrant in connection to aggravated DUI.

All three suspects were taken to the Iroquois County Jail.
