Isaiah 117 sets up annual lemonade ‘friend-raiser’

WASHINGTON CO., Tenn. (WJHL) – Isaiah 117 kicked off its annual lemonade stand fundraiser on Friday.

The fundraiser was inspired by a lemonade stand that helped fund the first Isaiah 117 House in Carter County. Isaiah 117 provides a safe place for children waiting for foster care placements.

News Channel 11 spoke with Taylor Forbes, the location leader for Isaiah 117 House of Washington County, who said the “friend-raiser” does not have a specific goal.

“While it is a fundraiser, the biggest thing we want to do is raise awareness, and we call it friend-raising in our ministry. And so we want to make community connections and just talk to as many people as we can about our ministry.”

Isaiah 177 will have lemonade stands set up at all of its Northeast Tennessee Houses throughout the weekend.
