Aldi has just expanded their recall on popular produce items sold in five states, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). This is due to a potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
As an expansion of a recent vegetable recall affecting over 15 types of produce, the following Aldi products are being added to the list, sold in Kentucky, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia locations:
8-ounce bag of jalapeño peppers with UPC 4099100087680
16-ounce (3-pack) bag of green peppers with UPC 4099100087598
16-ounce bag of green beans with UPC 4099100087826
If you have any of the above products on hand, dispose of it immediately or return it to your local Aldi store for a full refund. Listeria infection—also known as listeriosis—can be serious for those age 65 or older, pregnant, immunocompromised or for young children. Common symptoms are fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, while severe signs include headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions. Contact your healthcare provider if you are experiencing any of these symptoms after consuming the affected products from Aldi.
For questions or more information about this recall, contact R.S. Hanline Co Inc. by calling 1-888-484-4834 Monday through Friday, 9 A.M. to 5 P.M.
