Re "Vance vows to never forget his Ohio roots" July 19: Given his aversion to the truth, and his flip-flopping hypocrisy, believe it at your own peril.

Vance is no hillbilly: Papaw played banjo in the holler. I know hillbillies. Vance didn't tell Appalachia's story.

It's not about you. It's about Vance and his imperial wizard.

Moreno out to tear down wall separating church and state.

While Republican U.S. Senate candidate Bernie Moreno has been outspoken about his support for “building the wall,” it is the wall that his election would threaten that will have more impact on Ohioans' lives.

He would join the Senate’s MAGA caucus intent on tearing down the wall separating church and state.

A large part of the MAGA movement is comprised of contemporary crusaders whose goal is to enforce their Christian values and replace our secular government with what would essentially be a theocracy. In their view this country was founded by Christians and should be governed by Christians through a biblical lens.

The revocation of women’s right to control their own bodies is merely the first step. No-fault divorce and diminishing women’s role in the workplace are also on their agenda.

While every American has the right to their own religious beliefs, the wall of separation of church and state has kept the government from endorsing one over the other. The MAGA movement wants to change that, and Bernie Moreno is a devotee of the MAGA movement.

He presents a clear and present danger to America’s history of religious pluralism.
