JetBlue boosts number of nonstop flights at CT airport to Florida. See the destinations.

JetBlue Airways, the low-cost air carrier that started flying at Bradley International Airport in 2010, is launching a major expansion at Connecticut’s largest airport, adding an additional daily flight to each of its five destinations in Florida.

JetBlue will add the daily flights for nonstop routes to Orlando, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Fort Myers and Fort Lauderdale in November, expanding the number of JetBlue’s daily flights at Bradley by 35 compared with a year ago.

In 2023, JetBlue flew one million passengers via Bradley, and the additional flights are expected to increase that number by 30%, according to the Connecticut Airport Authority, which oversees operations at Bradley.

“An airport the size of Bradley, a market the size of Connecticut, you typically scratch and claw for every seat because you’re in competition with every airport across the country,” Kevin A. Dillon, the CAA’s executive director, said Wednesday. “The fact that JetBlue has chosen to put this level of investment into Hartford really speaks to depth and importance of this market.”

JetBlue also flies nonstop to San Juan and Los Angeles from Bradley

JetBlue’s announcement comes on the same day that low-cost Avelo Airlines said it will start serving Bradley in November will seven destinations, including two international routes to Jamaica and Mexico.

Avelo’s twice weekly service will add 14 flights to Bradley and represents an expansion beyond its hub at Tweed New Haven Airport. Avelo launched service from Tweed in 2021.
