VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — First lady Jill Biden is coming to Virginia Beach ahead of Thursday night’s presidential debate.

She’s expected to stop by a campaign organizing event to greet volunteers and supporters of her husband, according to her campaign. The location of the event hasn’t been shared at this time.

The first lady’s visit not only comes ahead of Thursday’s debate, but a scheduled visit to Chesapeake on Friday afternoon by former President Donald Trump, alongside Gov. Glenn Youngkin.

Both Jill and Joe Biden meanwhile will be in Raleigh that Friday afternoon to hold a post-debate rally.

President Biden won Virginia in 2020, including Chesapeake, while Trump won North Carolina in 2020. However both campaigns have been talking a lot about how they feel bullish about their chances in the states they lost, respectively. Polling though shows a flip by either candidate would be a stretch.
