John-Paul Miller wants court records with late wife Mica sealed

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — John-Paul Miller has asked an Horry County court to seal all Probate Court documents involving his late wife Mica.

“John-Paul Miller hereby moves for this court to seal any and all documents and information filed with the court concerning the above-caption case, including, but not limited to: any and all pleadings, motions, orders, affidavits, exhibits and any and all records pertaining to this case,” the motion, which was filed June 11 in Horry County Family Court, reads.

The motion, which lists nine reasons, was filed through John-Paul’s attorneys. A hearing on the matter is set for 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 18.

John-Paul, the 45-year-old founder and senior pastor of Solid Rock at Market Common, has been in a legal battle with Mica’s family over her estate. Earlier this month, he pushed back in court against her relatives after they asked to posthumously change her name and require John-Paul to partially pay for a forensic accountant.

Shortly after her death, two of Mica’s siblings alleged in court documents that their sister feared for her life amid divorce proceedings, according to documents filed in Horry County Probate Court and obtained by News13.

Mica, 30, died on April 27 at Lumber River State Park in Robeson County from a gunshot wound that authorities said was self-inflicted. Soon after, alleged abuses by John-Paul emerged through court affidavits and police reports — including the placement of multiple GPS trackers on her vehicles, having her involuntarily hospitalized and posting an explicit photo of her online.
