Johnson Co. Sheriff’s Office IDs homicide victim

JOHNSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) – The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has released new details in an investigation after a man was found dead over the weekend.

According to the sheriff’s office, law enforcement found Robert Phillippi Jr. dead inside a home on Cross Mountain Road.

The sheriff’s office responded to the home after a call for service.

A news release from the sheriff’s office states the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was contacted and began assisting in an investigation.

On Monday, the sheriff’s office confirmed the case is being investigated as a homicide.

A suspect has been identified, the release states, and facts have been turned over to the district attorney’s office.

The sheriff’s office announced there is no threat to the public, and the suspect is being held in the Johnson County Jail on unrelated charges.
