Kari Lake says '80% of the people are with us.' Is that the heatstroke talking?

Kari Lake on Monday claimed that as many as 80% of the people support her U.S. Senate campaign, as apparently does God.

This, despite every poll — the ones conducted here on Earth, anyway — showing her trailing Democrat Ruben Gallego.

Yet there she was on Monday, talking to Ben Harwell, who is guest hosting Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast while Bannon is in prison:

“I don’t know if you’ve been to Arizona, but it’s just a very patriotic state,” she told Harwell. “And the one message that we’re trying to relay to people on the campaign trail is that we’re much more united as a country than the fake news is letting on.

“The fake news talks about us divided. They have to have us fighting each other in order for their message to resonate. And once you realize that we’re united, I believe 75, 80% of the people are with us.”

Every (real) poll shows Lake behind Gallego

And I believe she’s either delusional or being downright deceptive in hope of convincing the National Republican Senatorial Committee and major GOP donors not to write off Arizona.

According to 538, which tracks polling, Lake is behind in every poll of Arizona voters and has been for months. A few polls have her within or close to the margin of error. Others have her as much as 13 points behind.

A May poll by CBS News/YouGov showed Donald Trump at 52% in Arizona while just 36% said they’d vote for Lake. Gallego drew 49%.

Lake refused to debate Mark Lamb: Now I know why

It seems she just can’t pull back out that stake she plunged in the heart of moderate McCain Republicans, no matter how hard she tugs.

The numbers are dire enough that handicapper Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball in April changed its rating of the race from toss-up to “leans Democratic.”

But Kari Lake has the inside track to God?

Yet to hear Lake, she’s not only ahead here on Earth but says God is on her side (and inmate Bannon’s side, as well).

“I have absolute faith that God placed us here for this moment,” she told Harwell.

Funny, I always thought that God took the side of the poor, the powerless.

And now ... the self promotional?
