Kentucky road crews prepare for snow across the Commonwealth

KENTUCKY (FOX 56) — Across Kentucky, road crews geared up on Saturday to treat the state’s roads ahead of what could be the first significant snowfall of the winter season.

Just before 8 p.m. on Saturday, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KTC) posted on Facebook that highway crews are reporting for duty in western, northern, and central Kentucky to patrol and treat roads as snow accumulates.

In a news release on Saturday, transportation officials said that each county is reporting with prepared equipment, trucks, and tools to treat roads through possible inclement weather

Eastern Kentucky road crews will report by 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, transportation officials said.

“If you must travel, take it slow, give yourself time and space between vehicles, and stay weather-aware,” the KTC wrote on Facebook.
