“UTA hopes to increase ridership among the younger generation, letting them experience the benefits of public transportation and encouraging them to use mass transit on a continuing basis,” UTA said in a press release.

UTA has a list of possible places to go with the summer passes. Some of the locations include City Creek Center, Lagoon, Thanksgiving Point and various libraries. UTA also said it can help some teenagers get to their summer jobs.

There are several purchase options for the Rider’s License, including purchasing a mobile ticket via the Transit mobile app.

If you don’t have access to a smartphone, physical passes will also be available for purchase online or at UTA Customer Service locations.

UTA does not offer a discount for purchases of multiple Rider’s Licenses, and those who are not within the age limit of six to 18 years of age are not eligible to use the passes.
