Korean War vets recognition event postponed

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Korean War veterans recognition event has been postponed because of “unforeseen circumstances,” Raven & Wolf Benefits LTD Owner Courtney Webb said.

The event will be alongside the Vietnam Era Veteran Home and Pinning Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 4. A location for the event has yet to be determined.

The event was originally planned for July 27.

Raven & Wolf Benefits, a veteran-owned business dedicated to serving veterans and the community, has pinned 120 Vietnam-era veterans over the past two years.

At the event, Raven & Wolf said it can help Korean War veterans and their families complete applications for the prestigious Ambassador for Peace Medal. The award is given by the South Korean government to honor vets who served in the war and subsequent peacekeeping missions, according to Webb.
