Lancaster County motorcyclist arrested with dog in his lap, drugs in his sock; PSP

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — A Lancaster County motorcycle was arrested after being found riding with a dog in his lap and drugs in his sock.

According to Pennsylvania State Police in Lancaster, on June 23, 2024, at 12:38 a.m., troopers initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle for multiple traffic violations.

Troopers say at the time of the stop, 28-year-old Devin Yake of Conestoga had a large dog on his lap while driving and committing the violations above. They say he was also found to have methamphetamine in his sock, as well as marijuana, and paraphernalia.

State Police say they determined Yake to be under the influence of drugs, placed him into custody on scene, and then transported him to Lancaster County Prison. Additionally, Yake was found to have active warrants for his arrest for fleeing and eluding police.

Local Business Beat

Yake has been charged with more than a dozen offenses including DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, and several vehicle violations.

The dog on Yake’s lap, a pitbull, took a ride in a patrol car to Yake’s registered address, where it was released to a responsible party.
